Volunteer Alliance follows the government’s Home and Community Care (HACC) standards and Active Service Model. This means that our staff and volunteers encourage older people to remain active, socially connected and independent. Making their own decisions, maintaining and developing their skills, keeping active, all helps us all to have the very best quality of life we can have. Active ageing helps us to stay in our own homes for as long as possible.

Volunteer Alliance is made up of three organisations: Ashburton Support Services, Samarinda Aged Care/Elsie Salter House, Alamein Neighbourhood and Learning Centre.

Ashburton Support Services, based in Ashburton, provides a range of services for mature aged people and people with a disability to live rich independent and socially connected lives in our community.

Elsie Salter House, based in Ashburton, is a dementia-specific day care centre, with support also provided for carers.

Alamein Neighbourhood and Learning Centre, based in Ashburton, participates in a variety of local networks to ensure that the needs of the Alamein community are met with minimal overlapping of services.

Please check our volunteer vacancies page for a list of volunteer opportunities at these organisations or phone Margaret on 9885 3815 or email for more information.
Your support can help to create a better life for people aged over 55 and for mature aged people with a disability who live in our local area. Your assistance will help our clients remain healthy, fit and involved in their community. It will also assist Ashburton Support Services in the purchase of much needed equipment to extend our range of services and activities. Please donate now.

    All donations are tax deductible.
